As bans on intentionally added microplastics tighten across Europe, the United Kingdom and parts of North America, PET glitter is becoming a difficult line item for brands to defend. Our answer is a Biodegradable Glitter made from plant-based cellulose film — a premium, plastic-free alternative that is independently proven to break down in natural environments.
Unlike conventional PET glitter, which persists in soil and water for centuries, our cellulose glitter begins from renewable plant material. It is designed to biodegrade across industrial composting, home composting, soil and marine conditions, so the sparkle a consumer sees on the surface does not become lasting plastic pollution underneath.
The range now covers 85+ colors across four series — Metallic, Iridescent, Fluorescent and Radiant — so switching to a sustainable material no longer means compromising on visual impact. Decorative brands can match seasonal palettes, cosmetic lines can build cohesive shade families, and craft or packaging buyers can specify a signature tone.
Every grade is antimony-free and available in an aluminium-free PURE grade for both liquid and solid cosmetics. The material is soft enough for bath bombs, soaps and leave-on body shimmer, and it can be supplied across a range of particle sizes for fine detail or bold effects. Colour matching and custom shades are available on request.
Certification is documented, not claimed: EN13432, EN14995, ASTM D6400 and ISO 17088 for industrial composting, ISO 15985 for anaerobic digestion, OK Compost Home for home composting, and ASTM D6691-09 for marine biodegradation. All material is produced in our GMP workshop, and a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and MSDS are provided on request.
