EFFECT-PIGMENT (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd. manufactures pearl pigments, effect pigments, edible glitter and cosmetic-grade pigments that are Halal-compliant. For every grade and target market, we provide a Halal Statement of Conformity — a formal declaration documenting that the product conforms to Halal requirements — available on request with your order.
To be fully transparent: we do not hold a Halal certificate issued by a certifying body, and we therefore do not claim "Halal certified" status. Instead, we confirm Halal compliance per grade and market and support it with a statement of conformity, so you know exactly what your documentation covers before you ship. This page explains what our Halal-compliant status means, how it differs from our certified schemes (Kosher, FDA, ISO 9001, GMP), and how to request the statement for your market.
"Halal-compliant" means that a product conforms to Halal requirements through the way it is sourced, formulated and manufactured — without a third-party Halal certification body issuing a certificate for it. At EFFECT-PIGMENT, Halal compliance is achieved through three controlled dimensions.
Our pearlescent pigments are based on mica platelets coated with metal oxides, and our glitter lines use PET film or biodegradable film as the carrier. For grades intended for food-contact, cosmetic and personal-care applications, raw materials are selected and reviewed so that ingredients of concern for Halal compliance — for example animal-derived raw materials or ethanol-based carriers — are controlled at the selection stage. The exact composition is confirmed per grade: we confirm Halal suitability per grade and market, not as a blanket claim across every catalogue number.
Production takes place in GMP-managed workshops under our ISO 9001 quality system, with lot-traceable records. This is the same controlled environment that supports our Kosher certification and food-contact compliance work, and it is the environment against which a Halal Statement of Conformity is issued.
For each order, we can provide a Statement of Conformity (also called a letter of conformity) that declares the product's Halal-compliant status for the agreed grade and market. The statement is issued per grade and market — because Halal expectations can differ between food, cosmetic and industrial applications, and between regions — so the document you receive matches what your customer or inspector actually asks for.
We can provide Halal-compliant formulations and supporting documents where applicable. We do not claim a blanket "Halal certified" status for all products; we confirm per grade and market. This is the same wording our application pages use, consolidated here as our single, authoritative Halal compliance statement.
Buyers often ask whether Halal sits alongside our other compliance schemes. The honest answer is: it is deliberate and different. Kosher and our quality schemes are covered by certificates; Halal is covered by a declaration. The table below states each scheme's status exactly as we can document it.
| Scheme | Status | What we provide |
|---|---|---|
| Kosher | Kosher-certified (certificate in place) | Kosher certificate documents for your market, without publishing certification numbers publicly |
| FDA (food-contact compliance) | Certified / compliance-documented | Compliance support documents per grade; certification numbers are never published on the site |
| ISO 9001 + GMP workshop | Certified quality system | Quality-system documentation supporting every lot we ship |
| Halal | Halal-compliant — no certificate (statement of conformity) | Statement of Conformity per grade and market, available on request |
In short: Kosher-certified, Halal-compliant (no certificate). Halal is a compliance declaration, not a certification, and we keep the two strictly separate in every document we issue.
See our full certification and quality system for how each scheme is documented.
Requesting the statement is part of the normal ordering flow — no separate audit or registration is required on your side.
Send the product grade(s) you are buying and the destination market plus application (food, cosmetic, personal care, or industrial). Halal expectations differ by market and application, and the statement is issued to match.
We review the grade against your market's Halal requirements and confirm in writing that the product is Halal-compliant for that use — or flag anything that needs adjusting before you commit.
The Statement of Conformity is issued for the agreed grade and market and provided with your shipment documentation, alongside the TDS, SDS and COA that accompany every lot. Documents are provided per lot without publishing certification numbers.
Yes — for the grades we confirm per market. Our pearl pigments are mica-based with oxide coatings, produced under GMP-managed, ISO 9001-certified conditions, and we confirm Halal compliance per grade and market rather than as a blanket claim. A Statement of Conformity is available on request.
No. We do not hold a Halal certificate issued by a certifying body, and we do not claim "Halal certified" status. What we provide is a formal Halal Statement of Conformity per grade and market, which documents that the product conforms to Halal requirements.
Kosher certification is in place — a certifying body has issued certificates, and we provide the documents your market requires without claiming certification numbers publicly. Halal is different: the products are Halal-compliant, but there is no certificate; we support the claim with a Statement of Conformity instead. The two schemes are kept strictly separate in all our documents.
Include the request in your inquiry or order: tell us the grade, destination market and application. We confirm suitability per grade and market, and the statement is issued with your shipment documentation alongside TDS, SDS and COA.
Yes. Edible glitter and food-grade pearl pigment lines, as well as cosmetic and personal-care grades, can be confirmed Halal-compliant per grade and market. Because food and cosmetic expectations differ, the statement always names the grade, market and application it covers. See our food-grade pearl pigment applications and the edible luster dust usage guide.
For grades intended for Halal-sensitive applications, raw materials are selected and reviewed with ingredients of concern — such as animal-derived raw materials or ethanol-based carriers — controlled at the selection stage, and suitability is confirmed per grade and market. For the definitive composition answer for your target grade, request the Statement of Conformity and our technical team will confirm the specifics for that grade.
Tell us the grade, market and application — we will confirm Halal compliance per grade and issue the statement with your shipment documents.
