DIY & Craft Application Guides

Glitter, pearl and effect pigments for resin crafts, soap making and party supplies

Resin & Crafts

Choosing Glitter Sizes for Epoxy Resin & Tumbler Crafts

For epoxy resin, tumbler and jewelry crafts, the main choice is particle size: fine glitter (smaller particle grades) gives a smooth satin sparkle and suspends evenly; coarser grades create visible chunky shimmer and are best for surface effect or thicker pours. We supply glitter in a range of sizes across our standard series. Because suspension behavior changes with resin brand and viscosity, we suggest a small mixed trial — free samples go out within 3 working days — before you commit to a volume size.

Skin Safety

Skin-Contact DIY: Always Use Cosmetic-Grade Glitter

If your project touches skin — slime, soap, bath products, body oils — use Cosmetic Grade Glitter, not craft glitter, because cosmetic grades are produced under the same GMP/FDA/Kosher documentation set as makeup ingredients. For candles and non-skin crafts, standard glitter series offer more size and color choice. When in doubt, tell us the end product and we will confirm which family is appropriate before you sample.

Samples & MOQ

Start Small: Free Samples & Flexible Ordering for Craft Businesses

You do not need a container to start. Free samples are dispatched within 3 working days, and commercial packaging runs from small retail-friendly units up to 25 kg for growing businesses. We export to 100+ countries, so international craft brands and small-batch studios can order the same series at both trial and scale without changing specification.

Mix & Match

Mixing Glitter Sizes for Layered Effects

Layered effects come from mixing sizes deliberately: a fine base layer reads as a soft glow from a distance, while a sprinkle of larger particles catches light up close. A common craft approach is 70–90% fine or medium glitter for body, with 10–30% larger accents for sparkle points. Our standard and cosmetic series cover multiple size ranges so you can build your own blend; if you share your medium and look, we can suggest two or three sizes to combine.

Biodegradable

Biodegradable Glitter (BG001) for Eco-Friendly Crafters

For eco-conscious crafters and brands, our Biodegradable Glitter series (BG001) is a plant-derived, compostable alternative to conventional PET glitter. It keeps the sparkle while answering the sustainability question your customers are asking. Because biodegradable films behave a little differently from PET in wet mediums, we recommend a quick trial in your resin or wash-off product — samples ship within 3 working days and our team will advise on handling.

Resin Art

Pearl & Glitter for Resin Art & Geode

Crystal/resin casting needs shimmer that stays suspended and doesn't bleed color into clear epoxy. Our pearlescent and glitter grades are selected for clarity and non-migration in 2-part resin; mix slowly to avoid bubbles. Cosmetic-Grade options available — note these are for craft use, not ingestion.

Candle

Glitter & Pearl for Candle & Plaster

Candles and plaster casts want heat-stable decoration embedded in the body or dusted on top. Our glitter tolerates pouring temperatures and stays put in wax or gypsum; dust the surface before the final set or mix into the melt at low load. Cosmetic-Grade where skin contact is possible; craft use only, not edible.

Slime

Glitter for Slime & Sensory Toys

Slime and sensory play need a suspended, skin-safe sparkle for child-facing products. We offer Cosmetic-Grade glitter within a cosmetic-safety framework suitable for tactile play; confirm your formula and target market so we can supply the right grade with FDA/Kosher/ISO 9001/GMP files. Cosmetic Grade is external/sensory use only — not for eating.

Nail Art

Glitter & Pearl for Nail Art & Stationery

Nail-art decoration and stationery (cards, journals) want fine, catch-light particles. Our Cosmetic-Grade glitter suits nail tips and deco; for paper crafts any grade works as a craft accent. FDA/Kosher/ISO 9001/GMP files available for cosmetic grades; craft use is non-edible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Art Grade Pearl Pigment, 15–30 µm disperses in 2-part epoxy without clouding. For color-shift, use Chameleon/Interference Series in a clear pour.

Over-loading or wrong grade causes cloudiness. Use art-grade pearl at directional loading and mix thoroughly; keep the medium clear for best shimmer.

Yes — our art-grade pearl ( < 40 µm) is heat-stable in wax at typical pour temperatures. Avoid concentrating near the wick.

Chameleon Series and Interference Series provide angle-dependent color travel in clear resin and on canvas. They need a transparent medium to show the flip.

Yes — Glow Powder charges under light and gives afterglow in clear resin and decor. Use mid loading and a clear base for max glow.

Interference / Holographic at < 30 µm gives multi-angle flash without texture. Pre-mix into your medium before pouring.

Art grade is for craft/non-skin use. For skin-contact (e.g., body art) you must use cosmetics grade. We never recommend art grade for cosmetics.

Yes — metallic powder adds a mirror fleck; blend at low loading to avoid dulling the pearl. Test ratio on a scrap piece first.

Our Color-Changing Pigment (temperature/UV reactive) works in resin, paint and wax at directional loading. Confirm activation range with your application.

Start low and build to the desired opacity/shimmer — too much reduces clarity. Pre-disperse in a little resin before the main mix.

Fine pearl generally stays suspended during the working time of most epoxies. For very thin pours, use the finer band ( < 15 µm) and avoid over-thinning.
