Silky luster for cakes, fondant, macarons and chocolate work — fine-cut food-grade pearl that disperses without grittiness and holds its sheen.
Bakery buyers ask one question first: will it feel gritty? Sugar-craft studios, macaron brands and chocolate workshops need pearl that disappears into the matrix — coloring the fondant evenly, dusting macaron shells with a soft sheen, or dispersing through cocoa butter without speckling the snap.
Fine cuts (directional 10-60 µm, with the classic decoration band at 15-30 µm) carry the answer. In chocolate, dispersion into cocoa butter or cocoa-butter-equivalent fats is smoothest with fine, oil-friendly grades applied while the coating is still fluid. On frozen desserts and ice cream the pigment is inert and cold-stable — it does not change freeze-thaw texture.
| Application | Recommended Product | Directional Size Range | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cakes / fondant / macarons | Food Grade Pearl Pigment | 10-60 µm (directional; classic decoration band 15-30 µm) | Smooth, even luster in cream, fondant & icing |
| Chocolate / coating dispersion | Food Grade Pearl Pigment (fine) | < 30 µm (directional) | Disperses in cocoa butter / CBE, no grittiness; oil-dispersible grades preferred |
| Icing / decorative sugar | Food Grade Pearl Pigment | 30-80 µm (directional) | Visible sparkle points; free-flow, anti-caking treated |
| Ice cream / frozen desserts | Food Grade Pearl Pigment | < 25 µm (directional) | Cold-stable and inert; no change to freeze-thaw texture |
A 10-60 µm directional range works, with 15-30 µm as the classic decoration band: fine enough to feel smooth on the palate, large enough to read as luster. For piping-bag dusting or dry-brushing, finer grades give a more even sheen.
Use a fine grade (directional below 30 µm) and disperse into cocoa butter or a cocoa-butter-equivalent while the coating is fluid; oil-dispersible grades give the smoothest result with no speckling. We help qualify the grade and dosage for your recipe.
Yes. Dust macaron shells before baking for a soft pearlescent finish, or blend into royal icing and glazes for an even sheen. Coarser 30-80 µm cuts give visible sparkle points on decorative sugar pieces.
Grades are FDA / Kosher compliant; supporting documents available on request, with lot-traceable TDS, SDS and COA. Intended for decorative food use; confirm your local food-regulation category before launch.
Our food-grade pearl pigment offers a pearlescent decorative alternative to titanium-dioxide (E171)-based matte white in decorative formats. We supply both a TiO₂-Free (E171-free) route and a standard TiO₂-coated mica route, by model — tell us your market and we confirm the grade.
Yes — Kosher certification in place, and Halal-compliant (statement of conformity available). Documents are provided per lot without publishing certification numbers.
Sealed, cool and dry, away from direct sunlight; re-seal after opening. The anti-caking treatment keeps the powder free-flowing in humid kitchen conditions, protecting dusting and dosing performance.
