Product Overview

Compared with natural mica, C.A.B. glass flakes are smoother, flatter and more transparent. Coatings built on them show higher color chroma, brighter luster and a deeper, diamond-like sparkle at the same loading — which is why our Diamond Series is especially suitable for cosmetics.

Series / Grades

Two series are built on C.A.B.: the Diamond Series (EP8001–EP8006 50–250 µm; EP8011–EP8016 30–100 µm; EP8249 High-Purity Interference Gold 30–120 µm; EP8800 Ultra Sparkle Diamond White 500–1000 µm) and the Chromapura Series (EP88031–EP88036 Sparkling Silver/Gold/Red/Violet/Blue/Green, 30–100 µm), the latter suited to spray-free applications, automotive films, masterbatch and decorative industries.

FAQ

What is C.A.B.?

C.A.B. stands for Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate — a synthetic glass flake used as the substrate for premium pearl pigments. It is coated with titanium dioxide and metal oxides to create interference colors.

How does borosilicate pearl pigment differ from natural mica pigment?

C.A.B. glass flakes are smoother, flatter and more transparent than natural mica, so the same coating delivers higher chroma, brighter luster and a deeper diamond-like sparkle. Natural mica remains a cost-effective choice for standard effects.

Is borosilicate pearl pigment safe for cosmetics?

Our Diamond Series on C.A.B. is especially suitable for cosmetic applications and is produced under GMP. We provide TDS/SDS and grade-specific compliance documents on request; final formula compliance follows your regional cosmetic regulations.

What particle sizes are available?

30–100 µm and 50–250 µm interference grades, 30–120 µm High-Purity Interference Gold, and a 500–1000 µm Ultra Sparkle Diamond White, in silver-white, gold, red, violet, blue and green.

What is the MOQ and can I get a sample?

Stock items start at 1kg per item. Free 5–10g samples ship in about 3 working days so you can evaluate sparkle and interference color in your own system.
